PAN AM:
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Colette. Thought I’d love Maggie right off the bat but I was mistaken.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Ted. I thought he was quite the asshole at the beginning but he means well.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I really don’t care for Laura. It feels as if every other character on the show is babysitting her.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Kate. Do people hate Kate?
5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Dean. He needs to fight harder for the women he love.
6. The character I would totally smooch: Colette or Kate. EVERY time.
7. The character I’d want to be like: Maggie. She’s gutsy and spontaneous, even though her mouth can get her into trouble.
8. The character I’d slap: Dean. FIGHT FOR YOUR WOMEN, bro.
9. A pairing that I love: Dean/Colette. Writers need to bring that back.
10. A pairing that I despise: Ted/Laura. It’s a bit of a cliche, and we could see it coming from a mile away.
HOMELAND:
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Carrie. Claire Danes, need I say more?
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Dana Brody. Morgan Saylor completely outdid herself as a young actress in the season finale.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Sgt. Nicholas Brody. I’m sorry, I just don’t care for the character. I love Damian Lewis, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t like his character.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: I’m currently having an internal love affair with both Lynne Reed and Virgil.
5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: I haven’t reached that point yet.
6. The character I would totally smooch: Carrie. And I will say it again, Claire Danes. She brings out my inner lesbian EVERY time.
7. The character I’d want to be like: Saul Berenson; he’s experienced and respected by the bureau even though his marriage is in shambles.
8. The character I’d slap: David Estes; get over your personal beef with Carrie and LISTEN to her for two seconds.
9. A pairing that I love: Honestly, Saul/Mira (opposed to the ordinary Brody/Carrie pairing that everyone else seems to love). I hope their marriage works out, I enjoy middle-aged couples.
10. A pairing that I despise: This might be different than most responses but I absolutely HATE the Brody/Carrie pairing. I mean, the characters might belong together but I see a serious chemistry issue between Claire Danes and Damian Lewis as actors. Love ‘em separately, hate ‘em together.
Damian Lewis will play the role of Lord Capulet in the upcoming Romeo & Juliet film with Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth? Okay, I have a number of issues with this:
1. Why is Damian Lewis being cast in an ugly role such as Lord Capulet? Why not make him Benvolio? (Dash Mihok is a redhead).
2. I just spent the past three months watching Damian Lewis and Claire Danes have sex on Homeland. And if you are a fan of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, you might find yourself making that uncomfortable comparison between Damian Lewis’s 2012 Lord Capulet and Claire Danes’s 1996 Juliet - having sex in the backseat of a car.
3. I-I can’t even…
HOMELANDERS!
Please, for the love of all that is holy and Homeland-ish, stop linking your Get Glue accounts to your Tumblr accounts. When I graze the Homeland tab and see 10+ new results I get a throbbing Homeland boner, thinking that someone has spammed the feed with Claire Danes’s crying face and Damian Lewis’s sweaty, ginger forehead only to discover 10+ Get Glue check-in notifications! Now, I use Get Glue too but if I linked it to Tumblr y’all’d be hatin’. Don’t make me throw a Carrie shit fit!
Got the “Pilot” episode of Homeland autographed by Mandy Patinkin (Saul Berenson) the other night. The mere fact that he signed on Brody’s face exhibits complete and abslute Marine ownage. The CIA wins!
